Frequently Asked Questions
What areas does Walker Insurance Agency serve?
We are based in Daphne and write coverage throughout Baldwin County and Mobile County, including Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Robertsdale, and the greater Mobile area. We are licensed in Alabama and in additional states where clients hold property.
What is an independent insurance agency?
An independent agency represents multiple insurance companies rather than one. Instead of quoting a single carrier’s rate, Walker Insurance Agency compares coverage and pricing across the carriers represented and presents the options that fit your situation.
Do I need flood insurance in Baldwin County?
Standard homeowners policies exclude flood damage everywhere in Alabama. Whether flood coverage is required depends on your flood zone and your lender, but plenty of claims come from properties outside high-risk zones. We write both The National Flood Insurance Program, a federal flood insurance program run by FEMA, and private flood policies.
What is a hurricane or named-storm deductible?
Coastal Alabama homeowners policies usually carry a separate, percentage-based deductible that applies only to damage from a named storm. On a $400,000 home, a 2% named-storm deductible means $8,000 out of pocket before coverage responds. We walk through this before you buy.
How much does business insurance cost in Alabama?
It depends on your industry, payroll, revenue, property values, vehicles, and claims history. A small office might start near a few thousand dollars a year for a business owner’s policy, while a general contractor with a fleet and a payroll will be considerably more. Call Walker Insurance Agency at (251) 422-9959 to get numbers relevant to your specific needs.
Does Alabama require workers compensation insurance?
Alabama generally requires workers compensation coverage for employers with five or more employees, with some exemptions by industry and entity type. We will confirm where your business falls.
Can I get insurance quotes without a phone call?
Yes. Submit the quote form with your details and one of Walker Insurance Agency’s licensed agents will follow up by email or phone, whichever you prefer.
How do I make a change to my policy?
Call the office at (251) 422-9959 or email your agent. Coverage changes cannot be made through a website form or voicemail. They have to be confirmed by a licensed producer.
